Patient update from Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness

During this unsettling time of COVID19 restrictions, we would like to assure you that providing a safe and healthy environment for our patients and staff is our top priority. We are now doing COVID-19 antibody testing at the office.

We take every precaution in our office to keep everyone safe. Our usual guidelines include universal precautions, frequent handwashing, and frequent sanitizing of all patient areas. We added an ozone/UV air purifier, ozone water in all our units and as a rinse, and of course, we practice social distancing here as much as possible. We are also checking everyone’s temperature as they walk in the door to make sure there are no infected patients being treated.

If you have a dental emergency, please do not hesitate to call us either to see us in person or have a phone consultation. We are open to answer your calls from Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

We hope that each of you will stay safe & healthy as we navigate this complex situation together.

Sincerely,
Dr. Sanda Moldovan & her staff at Beverly Hills Dental Health and Wellness

Relax with IV sedation dentistry in Beverly Hills, CA

Dental anxiety keeps countless people in the Beverly Hills, CA area from receiving essential treatments, from tooth extraction to dental implants, necessary for oral health and overall wellbeing. The team at Dental Health and Wellness Beverly Hills offers the relaxing option of IV sedation dentistry to resolve this problem.

Understanding conscious sedation

Many people confuse IV sedation with general anesthesia, but there are major differences. While both types of medication are administered into a vein, IV sedation used in dentistry is a form of conscious sedation. You are not “knocked out” (although some patients doze off), but rather in a calm, comfortable semi-awake state. With this safe sedation method, no breathing tube is necessary. Your vital signs are monitored, and we do not leave you alone while under the effect of the drug. You can signal the dental team and respond to verbal cues. You likely have little or no memory of the procedure when the medication wears off in a few hours. There is residual grogginess, though, so a ride home from the appointment is necessary.

When is IV sedation recommended?

IV conscious sedation can be adjusted continually, to maintain your comfort throughout treatment. This makes it ideal for:

  • Oral surgeries – extractions, bone grafting, and dental implant placement.
  • Multiple or extensive procedures. You can have them completed in one visit, rather than several appointments.
  • Efficiency. Nervous patients sometimes “fight” the dentist by tensing up unconsciously. IV sedation allows the doctor to work quickly and gently.
  • Comfort and healing. Since both body and mind relax with IV sedation, there is less chance of a sore jaw or stiff back from tension. Sedation also reduces trauma and fosters speedier healing of soft and hard tissues.
  • Any treatment that triggers anxiety.
